Early Career and Rise to Prominence
Robert Lewandowski was born on August 21, 1988, in Warsaw, Poland. He started his professional career at Znicz Pruszków, where, almost overnight, he gained a reputation as the top scorer in the Polish third and second divisions. The renowned Lech Poznań made of him the star of their front line, and in 2006 Lewandowski joined the football club. During his spell at Lech Poznań, Lewandowski played a big role in securing the first Polish Cup and Polish SuperCup further consolidating his standing as a prolific goal scorer.
